Planning Objection Example Letters Now Available

A leaflet giving examples of objection letters to the Outline Planning Applications to develop the Repton Drive and Winchester Drive greens will be distributed to 3,000 homes in the Westlands.

The leaflet is also available in this website in the How Can I Help? section.

The Residents Association encourages as many residents as possible to object to the two applications. For example more than one person can object within the same household. 

To ensure your objection is considered, please ensure the Planning Department receive it before 3rd March 2011.

Public Pressure Has Council on the Run

Council consultants submitted last-minute changes to their outline planning application for the Winchester Drive and Repton Drive green spaces. Following admissions from councillors that they got planning application wrong, they amended the drawings just before the 11 February application deadline.

FROM THE CABINET MEETING HELD ON 9TH OF FEBRUARY 2011 at Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council.

 

The council leader apologised to the residents present for the way the Council had handled the proposed sale of Clayton Road, Repton and Winchester. They need to be more open in the future.

He stated on viewing the outline planning proposal that he could see two reasons for refusal!

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council reveal new green spaces for planned development

Councillors revealed in a cabinet meeting agenda on Wednesday 9 February 2010 development proposals affecting the wards of May Bank, Seabridge, Clayton, Bradwell, Chesterton and Talke. The document refers to "Tranche 2" of the disposals namely 6.1 acres Clayhanger Close, Bradwell, 3.4 acres Shrewsbury Drive, Chesterton and 1 acre of Thomas Steet, Talke.

Tranche 1 referred to Pennyfields Road, Kidsgrove, Clayton Road, Winchester Drive and Repton Drive all in the Westlands.

No specific details are given on is made of how the wards of May Bank, Seabridge or Clayton will be affected or whether or not a Tranche 3 is planned.
